Healthcare that travels where it's needed, not just where it's easy.
Sancare Initiative CIC connects diaspora knowledge and resources with rural communities in Ghana โ starting with the Bonakye Rural Health Development Initiative in the Oti Region.
Reducing healthcare inequalities through community-led action
We work to improve community wellbeing through accessible health education, outreach, emergency healthcare strengthening, and sustainable development โ designed and delivered with the communities we serve, not for them.
Our Mission
To improve community wellbeing and reduce healthcare inequalities through accessible health education, emergency healthcare strengthening, and sustainable development programmes.
Our Vision
Healthier, empowered, and resilient rural communities where every individual has access to healthcare services, knowledge, and emergency support systems.
How We Work
Partnership-led delivery, volunteer-supported programmes, and evidence-based interventions โ built on trust earned through direct experience on the ground.
Bonakye Health Centre & community
Photo documentation from the field is being added as it's collected. This space will hold real imagery from Bonakye Health Centre, the surrounding community, and our team visits.

Following my relocation to the UK, laboratory services at Bonakye became significantly constrained โ it showed me how fragile essential healthcare is in communities where skilled personnel are limited.
Sanford currently serves in the British Army and previously worked as a Medical Laboratory Technologist and Officer-in-Charge of the Laboratory at Bonakye Health Centre, where he lived for approximately two years. He spent more than three years working across the wider Oti Region and continues to maintain direct relationships with healthcare staff at Bonakye Health Centre and Nkwanta South Municipal Hospital โ relationships that ground BRHDI in genuine local trust and knowledge.
A lean, distributed delivery team
As an emerging organisation, Sancare Initiative CIC operates through a project-based model of volunteers and advisors spanning the UK, Ghana, and the United States.
